Job PurposeMechanic and Project Engineer responsible for implementing and communicating an operational plan to complete projects, monitoring progress and performance, resolving operational problems, minimizing delays, identifying, developing, and gathering necessary resources, and directing site building control activities. Design mechanical systems, develop schedules, budgets and forecasts, select materials, equipment, staff, and contractors, and estimate costs, resources, and time required. Ensure controls architecture consistency between sites and analyze technology trends.
KeyAccountabilities
- Create scope documents based on unit/department project requirements; manage and support the bidding, evaluation, and selection process of contractors for facility design and construction projects. Create project budgets, ensuring accuracy in company investment prioritization worksheets. Supervise engineers and on‑site contractors, generate project tracking documentation, and determine and prioritize tasks to develop a project schedule and timeline.
- Support operation of facilities mechanical systems such as centrifugal fans, burners, cooling/heating coils, pumps, air compressors, chillers, and heat exchangers. Manage and maintain documentation for the site mechanical systems and communicate critical updates to system operators.
- Manage FAC BAS/BMS specification, design, and operation. Create planning documents for periodic budgeting and approval events. Direct and collaborate with site representatives to ensure consistency and optimal performance, present updates to site leaders, manage periodic updates and maintenance, and submit yearly planning documentation.
- Support FAC operations with mechanical/electrical equipment design and specification. Apply analytical and troubleshooting skills to minimize mean time to recovery.
- Train FAC associates on operations enhancements related to controls and mechanical/electrical systems. Provide support as needed and ensure reference documentation is available and easily accessed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–6 years of experience developing, coordinating, and managing mechanical and/or facility related projects.
- Intermediate experience with control systems architecture and programming (e.g., EBO/Andover, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell).
- Strong subject matter knowledge of industrial mechanical systems from concept through final design and implementation, plus troubleshooting and repair. Peripheral knowledge of electrical and structural systems related to a manufacturing facility.
- Effective communication, presentation, customer‑focus, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and AutoCAD capabilities.
- Ability to communicate ideas to gain consensus, demonstrate technical proficiency, balance multiple projects, understand technical drawings and specifications, and work collaboratively.
- Ability to balance department needs with facility equipment service team requirements. Knowledge of Honda project flow, budgeting, cost reporting, and project tracking.

- Work all appropriate weekends/shutdowns to manage projects and cover production needs.
