Job Purpose

The Manager / Sr. Manager, Global IT Resource Management defines and governs the enterprise IT investment and workforce strategy for the Global Digital Unit, ensuring alignment of financial and human capital resources to business priorities across North America and Japan. This role establishes a unified, global framework for IT financial management and resource planning, driving the transition from regionally managed activities to an integrated, enterprise-wide operating model.

A central focus of this role is enabling executive decision-making through transparent, data-driven insights into IT spend, workforce capacity, and investment performance. By providing strategic oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning processes, this role ensures disciplined allocation of IT resources, optimizes cost efficiency, and enhances the organization's ability to scale and deliver high-value IT capabilities. Through close partnership with senior IT and business leaders, this role influences investment priorities, strengthens financial governance, and advances Honda's long-term strategic objectives.

Key

Accountabilities

Enterprise IT Investment Strategy, Financial Governance & Controls:

Define and govern the enterprise IT financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across North America and Japan. Establish and enforce financial governance frameworks, internal controls, and compliance with Honda accounting standards and applicable regulations. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial activities including budget management, accruals, cost reporting, and financial close processes. Safeguard company assets by serving as a key financial steward for the IT Business Unit.

Financial Performance Management, Reporting & Risk Oversight:

Lead enterprise-level financial performance management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to IT and North America executives. Provide forward-looking insights through variance analysis, trend evaluation, and reforecasting to improve cost predictability and achievement of operating and investment targets. Identify and mitigate financial risks while driving cost efficiency and accountability across all IT divisions.

Global Resource Planning, Capacity Management & Workforce Governance:

Lead enterprise IT resource planning and capacity management across North America and Japan, ensuring alignment of workforce supply to business demand and investment priorities. Oversee manpower planning, tracking, and reporting to provide transparency into workforce utilization and capacity constraints. Partner with Human Capital Development and IT leadership to operationalize workforce strategies through effective resource allocation, contractor and managed service optimization, and cross-division resource planning that supports scalable and efficient IT delivery.

Cross-Regional Governance & Operating Model Alignment :

Lead the development and implementation of a unified global operating model for IT resource management, ensuring alignment with Japan-led financial policies, reporting standards, and governance expectations. Drive consistency and transparency across North American entities, including financial processes such as showback, chargeback, and intercompany cost allocations.

Strategic Partnership, Vendor Influence & Continuous Improvement:

Partner with senior IT, business, and procurement leaders to influence investment decisions, vendor strategies, and cost optimization initiatives. Provide financial guidance to support contract negotiations and vendor performance outcomes. Drive continuous improvement of financial and resource management processes to enhance efficiency, strengthen compliance, and enable scalable IT operations.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum educational qualifications:

  • Must have a college-level Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration, or a related field of study
