We are looking for a Sonographer to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health!

Initial training will take place at Memorial Hospital's main campus. Following the opening of our Jerome facility, you will relocate there to fulfill your permanent role.

What You'll Do:

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams (e.g. evaluates the uterus, ovaries, kidneys, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, breast, vessels, fetus, etc); provides the Radiologist or ordering physician with technical and diagnostic interpretation of exams.
  • Communicates effectively with sick, injured or disabled patients to record patients’ medical histories; explains diagnostic procedures, provides pre-exam instructions, and verifies patient’s/caregiver’s understanding of instructions; schedules patient procedures; provides medical procedure and care consider age, growth and development, and specific needs of patient; transports patients from emergency department and other patient care areas.
  • Responds to emergencies outside of normal work hours within 60 minutes. Primarily emergency department exam for ectopic pregnancy, testicular torsion and other exams as approved by radiologist.
  • Assists Radiologist or other physicians with localization for biopsy or aspiration.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of current developments in field to maintain competency in Ultrasound procedures.
  • Completes ultrasound exams as ordered. Exam data entry is completed for all exams in radiology information system (RIS).
  • Acquires and maintains patient history in department utilizing the RIS, following departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in process improvement, both departmental and hospital-wide.

  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements.
  • Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s and department’s Ethics and Compliance program and is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer, or the hospital hotline.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Two (2) years clinical Ultrasound experience, or certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers required.
