Job Summary
Collins Aerospace is seeking a driven, technically strong Low Band Sensor (LBS) Support Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) enterprise at Beale AFB, CA. In this critical on‑site role, you will oversee the operation and sustainment of a high visibility SIGINT system supporting global Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
Key Responsibilities- Managing, maintaining, and optimizing sensor software supporting the LBS system
- Performing advanced systems administration of specialized SIGINT applications
- Operating LBS software that controls sensors, sites, and systems across the AF DCGS architecture
- Delivering engineering‑level technical support to the OEM and stakeholders through established ticketing and communication channels
- Conducting detailed diagnostics, analysis, and fault isolation of LBS software and associated systems
- Supporting SIGINT post‑upgrade activities in accordance with technical data, TTPs, and OIs
- Executing pre‑mission configuration workflows (system checks, reboots, ground ring establishment, etc.)
- Providing real‑time, on‑shift LBS support to operators, mission crews, and end‑users
- Gathering and delivering LBS system inputs for mission debriefs across supported communities
- Active and transferable Top Secret/SCI U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain CI Poly after start
- 15+ years of RF experience
- 15+ years of DCGS experience
- DoD 8570 certification (Security+ or higher)
- Ability to support rotating 24/7 shift operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 5 years of experience
- Hands‑on proficiency with Linux, Docker, Puppet, vSphere, and system/software troubleshooting
- Clear communication of technical issues to customers, OEMs, and internal teams
- Demonstrated success in analyzing complex issues and executing effective solutions
- Collaboration within a distributed operations and engineering team
