Logistics Senior Specialist

Job Purpose

This position supports the overall mission and goals of HDMA by ensuring delivery of parts at the right time, right condition, to plants by managing five cross-dock locations and any delivery issues, and by acting as a liaison between carriers, suppliers, the Delivery Team and cross-docks.

• Lead a group comprised of suppliers, X-Dock leaders, and Delivery associates to facilitate PDCA/RCA/Why-Why analysis to determine and carry out appropriate countermeasure activity.
• Provide leadership and direction to cross-docks on consolidating and reducing loads from the SAX cross-dock to provide cost down for transportation in alignment with the Business Plan.
• Lead the department monthly report roll-up for UL review and signoff.
• Act as liaison between Cross-Docks and Delivery, Packaging and Transportation Teams to lead reroute preparation activity.
• Monitor daily pulse reports to ensure Cross-docks processing and delivering on time and provide direction on the path forward.
• Lead projects for Cross‑Dock Planning and future expansion.
• Analyze weekly invoices to ensure SOW is followed and being billed correctly.
• Provide daily direction and guidance to Cross-dock management team on potential damages and claims of parts flowing through Cross-docks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or equivalent.
• Minimum 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Honda supply chain flow.
• Extensive knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Customer service skill set to deal with Honda internal and external customers and problem resolution.

• Decide to expedite from X-Dock to plant to avoid downtime.
• Decide when to cut loads from SAX to provide cost down activity.
• Decide when to award overtime, extra drivers, etc. to ensure cross-docks are on time.
