Transportation Sr Analyst

At Scotts Miracle‑Gro, a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, we are looking for a Sr. Analyst, Transportation to support our distribution execution team. The role involves analyzing inbound and outbound freight to identify cash‑flow and cost‑saving opportunities while ensuring products are delivered on time and at the lowest possible cost.

• Own the relationship between transportation providers and corporate business partners to promote exceptional service while maintaining efficient distribution operations.
• Support DC operations through route guide compliance, carrier scheduling, RMA processing, freight updates, and shipping quotes.
• Drive transportation effectiveness and efficiency improvements with data‑based analysis and best‑practice recommendations.
• Utilize TMS, SAP, SAP EWM, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other reporting mechanisms to highlight improvement areas and measure site performance.
• Update TMS & SAP with new vendor details, invoice management, and EDI tracking to support operational execution.
• Drive operational excellence through standardized KPIs across the network.
• Engage a team environment and collaborate with providers to achieve superior performance.
• Support transportation network changes, system installations, new product launches, product transitions, and acquisitions.
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly transportation and logistics reporting.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2–3 years of transportation/logistics operations or logistics analytics experience.
• Extensive experience with SAP, SAP EWM, Business Warehouse or similar reporting software, Tableau, Google Suite, TMS, and Microsoft Office.
• Analytical experience and knowledge of supply‑chain processes within a manufacturing CPG company; general knowledge of retail business is a plus.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, organizational, consulting, resource management, and technology utilization skills.
• Business acumen with a record of leading change and delivering results.
• Flexibility to accommodate 10%+ travel as needed.
• Ability to engage transportation provider leadership to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate at multiple leadership levels.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills; expert in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
• Expert in Google Suite, particularly Docs and Data Studio.
• Expert in SAP and familiarity with Tableau and other data‑warehouse reporting tools.
• Ability to accept project ownership and accountability; work effectively cross‑functionally within the organization.
• Active listening skills and ability to be flexible and open to change.
• Ability to influence and impact decision‑making processes.

The starting budgeted pay range for this role is $87,600.00 – $ per year. Scotts considers various factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location, when determining the final salary.
