Data Center Security Specialist – AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) serves customers and developers on a cloud platform built for performance, reliability, and security. We handle customers’ data with airtight security measures. We are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist to join our Infrastructure Operations team and help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.

• Manage physical security operations and ensure deployment of all security policies and procedures.
• Develop post orders and define security procedures.
• Handle site incidents, work with security equipment, and participate in construction projects.
• Drive day‑to‑day process improvement activities and manage vendors.
• Participate in recurring site audits, reviews, and testing of new security technologies.
• Conduct thorough security system checks, including access control, cameras, and alarm panels.
• Coordinate vendor access requests, badge access, and vendor escort procedures.
• Oversee security guard force operations and verify SLA compliance.
• Document vulnerabilities and incidents in the security tracking system.
• Maintain communication with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

The day typically begins with a review of any security incidents or operational issues that occurred. The specialist conducts system checks, manages security‑related tickets, and coordinates vendor activities. They attend operations meetings, perform facility walkthroughs, conduct inspections, and manage administrative tasks such as updating procedures and reporting. Throughout the shift they remain responsive to alarms and incidents, maintaining vigilance over the facility’s security posture.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, keeping the cloud running. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS enables delivery of the highest standards for safety and security while providing scalable, cost‑effective capacity.

• 2+ years overseeing security operations and managing security vendors/contractors.
• 6+ months of experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.

• Equivalent experience or Bachelor’s degree.
• 2+ years of law enforcement or security‑related experience.

Base salary range: $28.00‑$50.00 USD hourly (USA, OH, MARYSVILLE). Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
