Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION:

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Art courses up to 10 hours per week.
• Organize and teach all levels of Art classes.
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.

REQUIRED DUTIES:

• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s in art history, history of art and architecture, or visual culture/visual studies.
• Bachelor’s in art history AND Master’s in history.
• Master’s in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history.
• The equivalent of the above qualifications (see equivalency requirements).

EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT: All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District by the application filing date or obtain an equivalency determination from the District before publication of the Recruitment Announcement. Range/Step:
Class I - VII (based on degree and teaching experience).
