Position Information
Job Title: Student, Part Time - Studio Arts Instructor
Location: Yuba City, CA
Job DescriptionBasic Function: Instruct classes in studio arts media such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics. Oversee one or more specializations of studio arts, including maintaining and ordering instructional supplies. Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Art or Fine Arts
- California Community College life credential in the subject matter area of Art or Fine Arts
- Experience teaching all levels of ceramics, including wet slab, leather hard, and coil methods
- Experience with high fired gas and kiln maintenance, Raku firing, and wheel throwing
- Experience maintaining art studio and ordering supplies
- Work at heights above six feet, walk on high catwalk spaces above the auditorium
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling
- Pushing, pulling, guiding materials
- Stand, walk on unstable surface
- Lifting greater than 50 lbs
- Assemble, connect small objects
- Reach and retrieve work materials
- Operate equipment controls, levers and buttons
- Work near moving objects
- Exposure to fumes, noise, extreme temperatures, sharp objects
- Flexible schedule including weekends and nights
Class I - VII based on degree and teaching experience.
Salary RangePart‑time positions < 0.60 FTE not entitled to District paid fringe benefits. Salary schedule: YCAFT 2024‑2027 contract.
BenefitsPart‑time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
