Long Term Temp Radiological Technology Instructor/Program Coordinator, Full-Time

Yuba College is seeking an equity‑minded, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative instructor to serve as the Radiology Technology Instructor/Program Director (Coordinator). This position supports and enhances the radiologic technology program at Yuba College.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of program course outlines, handbook, and student records.
  • Consult with program faculty and affiliate staff regarding student performance and academic progress.
  • Assist in solving problems and concerns with students in didactic and clinical settings.
  • Explore innovations, including research, to benefit the program, college, or district.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with college personnel, affiliate hospitals, and professional organizations.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise the program curriculum in partnership with other program faculty.
  • Lead continued program development and assure effective program operations.
  • Participate in didactic and/or clinical instruction, as appropriate, in compliance with accreditation and college policies.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Dean for budget planning.
  • Recommend purchase of instructional equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Monitor annual inventory of program property.
  • Assist in interpreting affiliation agreements with affiliate hospitals.
  • Provide information on instructional program requirements related to construction proposals or contracts.
  • Assist in developing proposals for local, state, or federal funding.
  • Schedule faculty, preceptor, and advisory committee meetings; maintain minutes.
  • Participate in college, division, and program meetings and committees as assigned.
  • Support onboarding of new full‑time and part‑time faculty to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
  • Disseminate necessary information about the program for news releases and other college publications.
  • Describe the program to applicants, students, college, and community personnel.
  • Recruit, screen, and select qualified and diverse students in collaboration with Admissions & Records.
  • Refer students to support services as necessary.
  • Perform assessments of the program for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the program Radiation Safety Officer alternate.
  • Oversee ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes in compliance with district, state, and JRCERT requirements.
  • Stay abreast of educational trends in radiology and maintain current knowledge of professional discipline and educational methodologies through ongoing professional development.
  • Be available to faculty and students during clinical hours, including travel to clinical sites within a 300‑mile radius of the college.
  • Perform day, evening, night, weekend, and summer responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, OR Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience, OR qualifications determined equivalent through the district’s equivalency process.
  • Experience: Document 3 years of clinical experience in diagnostic radiologic technology and 2 years of instructor experience in a JRCERT‑accredited program.
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising; AHA Professional CPR course completion.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervision and administrative duties experience.
  • Experience teaching radiography students at community college level.
Physical Demands

Class 1, Step 1 to Class 7, Step 10 – Initial placement will not be higher than Class 7, Step 10 according to the Academic Handbook.
