Part Time - Music Instructor

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for music courses up to 10 hours/week
• Organize and teach all levels of music classes
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired

• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Master’s in music OR
• Bachelor’s in music AND
• Master’s in humanities OR
• Equivalency Requirement – all applicants must meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in teaching music at high school or college level. For sabbatical replacement in 2024-25 academic year, we especially seek candidates with choral and musical directing experiences, and/or experiences in teaching music history, voice or piano.
