This role supports passenger vehicle R&D via the testing/validation of automotive transmissions.
The primary job activities are:- Develop mechanical, performance, and functional requirements for new passenger vehicle transmissions
- Investigate and understand the functional requirements (durability, regulatory, performance) for assigned systems and components
- Setup test equipment, collect test results/data, verify test accuracy and completeness, analyze results, summarize findings, present reports, and coordinate with stakeholders to address issues
- Develop, write, and issue related engineering specifications as required
- Ensure all necessary system/component testing is completed...performing some basic mechanical testing by oneself as needed
- Responsible to ensure assigned systems and components achieve product acceptance for mass production
- Develop all necessary reports, presentations or technical documents to explain and/or make a record of the development process and activities
- Support factory, sales, suppliers, etc. as required for product explanations, owner's manual reviews, manufacturing issues, supply concerns, or market complaints
