Job Information
Title:
Personal Financial Counselor – Marysville, WA. Grade: 24.
- Provide personal financial counseling services to military service members and families at assigned installations.
- Conduct one‑on‑one counseling, briefings and presentations, and referrals to external resources.
- Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling modalities (web‑based, secure online chat, video) when authorized by OSD FINRED.
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision, sharing trend information.
- Participate in continuing education, quality improvement committees and other contract activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish required if contract dictates.
- Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 security investigation.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Holder of one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
- Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500 per year.
- May be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and voluntary benefits.
