Role Overview

We are looking for a strong AWS Cloud Migration Architect to lead end-to-end cloud migration and modernization initiatives for a strategic automotive client. The role will be responsible for architecture, discovery, assessment, migration planning, infrastructure provisioning and execution across complex enterprise workloads.

The candidate will work closely with customer architecture and application teams, technology stakeholders and delivery teams, providing technical leadership across the complete migration lifecycle—from discovery and assessment through migration, modernization and Day-2 operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end AWS cloud migration programs, covering infrastructure, applications, databases, Dev Ops and security.
  • Drive workload discovery, dependency mapping, assessment and migration planning using tools and frameworks such as ModelizeIT, AWS Application Discovery Service and AWS Transform.
  • Design and review AWS infrastructure architectures covering EC2, EKS, RDS, networking, security, IAM and related AWS services.
  • Develop workload‑level migration strategies and R-lines, including Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire and Retain decisions.
  • Define database transformation and migration strategies across heterogeneous enterprise environments.
  • Assess workloads and determine the right‑fit cloud infrastructure, architecture and provisioning model.
  • Lead architecture discussions with customer leadership and enterprise architecture teams.
  • Work closely with application teams to understand application dependencies, technical constraints and migration requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership across Infrastructure, Application, Dev Ops and Security migration work streams.
  • Define and implement AWS Landing Zones, account structures, networking, IAM roles/permissions, security controls and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Lead migration planning and execution using appropriate AWS and third‑party migration tools.
  • Provide technical guidance through cutover, stabilization and Day‑2 operations.
  • Identify migration risks, dependencies and technical gaps and drive their resolution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns and migration best practices across the program.

    Strong understanding of AWS Well‑Architected principles.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale AWS migration and modernization programs.
  • Strong understanding of migration methodologies and workload disposition.
  • Experience with ModelizeIT or comparable discovery and assessment platforms.
  • Experience with AWS Application Discovery Service.
  • Experience with AWS Transform is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience with AWS MGN/Cloud Endure.
  • Experience with AWS DMS and database migration.
Infrastructure & Platform
  • Experience setting up AWS Landing Zones.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure provisioning and automation.
  • Experience with IAM roles, permissions and security architecture.
  • Understanding of Dev Ops, CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
  • Excellent customer‑facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with customer CIO/CTO, architecture and technology leadership.
  • Ability to translate business and application requirements into pragmatic cloud architectures.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate multiple migration work streams.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in a complex, globally distributed enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification or equivalent.
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking / Security / Dev Ops certification is a plus.
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Experience with large‑scale enterprise transformation programs.
  • Experience working with global system integrators and enterprise customers.
