Intake Registered Nurse (RN) – Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital

Position Type: Full‑Time

The Intake Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating the assessments of incoming patients with Admission & Residential (A&R) Counselors and initiating the admission process. This role supports both direct and indirect patient care, works closely with the multidisciplinary team, and ensures a safe therapeutic environment for all patients.

• Coordinate provider admission orders and initiate the admission process with the Admissions Clerk and Admissions Clinicians.
• Screen referrals and assess the physical and psychological conditions of patients continuously throughout their care journey.
• Actively engage in the health‑care team, offering direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
• Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles.
• Uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in the core values of Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital.
• Collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, contributing to tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program and hold a valid Washington State RN license (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
• Minimum of three years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
• Exceptional crisis management and time‑management skills.
• Flexibility and creativity with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Calm, organized, and professional demeanor when dealing with stressful situations.

Base hourly rate ranges:

• Days: $48.00–$55.00/hr

• Nights: $51.00–$58.00/hr (incl. shift differential)

• Weekend Days: $53.00–$60.00/hr (incl. shift differential)

• Weekend Nights: $57.00–$64.00/hr (incl. shift differential)
