- Teach courses in plant biology, including Local Flora (field botany), an introductory botany course for biology majors, and introductory courses in biology for majors and nonmajors.
- Contribute to development of additional plant-related courses (physiology, anatomy, systematics, etc.) and a course in evolution.
- Teach load of 12 credit hours per academic term (fall and spring).
- Develop an active scholarly program in the candidate's area of expertise, ideally involving undergraduates.
- Provide service to the university, college, and school, including advisement, committee work, and participation in management of the teaching greenhouse and herbarium.
- PhD in biology, botany, or another related field.
- ABD (All But Dissertation) candidates will be considered.
