PRIMARY DUTY:
The Dual Credit Instructor of Record Lead serves as the primary curricular manager for the high school instructors serving under their purview that are delivering the Dual Credit U.S. History course. The Instructor of Record Lead’s primary employment is with Northwest Missouri State University and will be accountable for managing the course materials and delivery of up to eight high school faculty who do not meet minimum qualifications for teaching dual credit.
FUNCTIONS
- Develop, distribute, maintain, and support delivery of dual credit course content through Canvas and Open Educational Resources (OERs), ensuring alignment with university curriculum, rigor, and accreditation standards.
- Provide instructional materials to high school instructors through a learning management system or other approved instructional methods, including synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
- Train, support, and evaluate assigned high school instructors through orientation, annual required training, professional development, classroom observations, and ongoing instructional guidance.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the university and high school instructors, providing communication, resources, curriculum updates, and support to instructors, students, and university stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure instructional quality and course equivalency through site visits, instructional observations, curriculum review, assessment alignment, and collection of evidence demonstrating comparable academic standards.
- Facilitate student success and program operations by communicating registration information, academic resources, deadlines, enrollment changes, and student service referrals.
- Manage and maintain academic records and compliance documentation, including rosters, training records, observations, curriculum updates, student work samples, and final grade submission.
- Collaborate with discipline department chairperson, Extended Learning staff, and partner schools to address instructional concerns, ensure program effectiveness, and support continuous improvement.
- Promote assessment and evaluation processes by encouraging course evaluation participation, sharing results, and implementing quality improvement measures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Dual Credit Program and university objectives.
Education:
Meets minimum hiring requirements of a Dual Credit instructor in the U.S. History:
Masters degree in History or related fields or completed Masters degree with 18 graduate hours of coursework completed in History.
