Summer Marketing Analytics & E-Commerce

Overview

Smith & Wesson is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Analytics & E-Commerce Intern to join our team for Summer 2026! This internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience and exposure to various marketing functions, including E-Comm, email marketing, and analytics.

Internship Dates:
May 18th-August 14th

• In-office/non-remote
• Maryville, TN
• 40 hours per week
• Monday-Friday
• Paid

Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in a related field.

• Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Collect, clean, and analyze website data from multiple sources.
  • Assist with dashboards and reports to track sales, customer behavior, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to optimize website performance.
  • Support business teams with ad hoc analysis and recommendations based on data-driven insights.
  • Data entry and website updates based on findings.
• E-Commerce Performance Optimization
  • Analyze customer purchasing behavior, segmentation, and lifetime value.
  • Conduct A/B testing and analyze results to improve customer experience and conversion rates.
  • Provide insights on customer journey, churn rate, and retention strategies.
  • Evaluate product performance, pricing strategies, and sales trends.
  • Identify opportunities for improving website traffic, checkout processes, and cart abandonment rates.

Competencies and Skills

• Technical Skills
  • Some experience with data analytics tools.
  • Experience with BI tools is ideal.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and e-commerce platforms is helpful.
• Soft Skill
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

Physical Demands

Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. The work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations and may include exposure to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards around moving machinery, confined spaces, vibrations, hot temperatures, humidity, odors, dust, and chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection are required on the manufacturing floor. Additional PPE may be required depending on the task, including safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.

Focus on support activities for the Manufacturing Engineering Department and help achieve best practice manufacturing processes and techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• CAD using Solid Works to create Engineering drawings
• CAD using Solid Works to create Tool Designs (Fixture-Gauges-Cutter)
• Machining prototypes
• Building guns
• Testing product
• Scheduling and coordination of a variety of testing exercises to validate the performance of New Products
• Writing test reports
• Responding to requests for engineering services with thorough, accurate, timely and cost-effective solutions
• Using appropriate project management techniques to ensure tools, gauges, fixtures, equipment, department-layouts, routings, assembly procedures and CNC programs are fully defined, documented and implemented
• Conducting continuous evaluation and suggesting improvements within the manufacturing environment to assure quality and cost objectives are consistently achieved
• Working closely with multiple groups of diverse interests (Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Production floor, Quality Engineering, etc.) while investigating, supporting and implementing improvements and alternatives to existing processes
• Under general supervision, reviewing progress and results; recommending changes in procedures; operating with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience, Competencies and Education
• End of 2nd year or summer prior to 3rd year of college working toward an Engineering Degree
• Required GPA of 3.60 or higher on a 4.00 scale
• Candidates with an associate degree or technical school certificate is a plus
