Job DetailsWhat You'll Do:
- Serve as the technical expert for casting, melting, and molten metal processes across multiple manufacturing locations.
- Lead complex troubleshooting efforts involving casting quality, metal recovery, process variability, and operational performance.
- Develop and implement best practices to improve quality, productivity, recovery, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with plant leadership, engineering, operations, quality, and R&D teams to solve critical manufacturing challenges.
- Lead cross-functional technology and process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze operational and production data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support new technology evaluations and implementation of emerging casting and metallurgical processes.
- Train and mentor engineers, metallurgists, and operations personnel.
- Standardize technical practices and drive knowledge sharing across facilities.
- Support capacity improvement initiatives through process optimization and workflow enhancements.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience supporting casting, metallurgy, molten metal processing, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience with casting process optimization, defect reduction, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive technical initiatives.
- Master's degree or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in casting, molten metal processing, melting, recycling, or process metallurgy.
- Experience with ingot, slab, billet, foundry, or other large-scale casting operations.
- Background in metallurgical characterization, process modeling, simulation, or manufacturing technology development.
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or large-scale manufacturing organizations.
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement experience.
