Overview

The Quality Assurance Lead will collaborate with leadership and scrum/project teams to support and improve quality best practices as they relate to the organizational objectives within their respective business unit. This individual will own the overall QA practices and ensure processes and best practices are documented and followed. This role will work closely with direct reports and alongside development and portfolio teams to help understand risk, value, efficiency, and quality of the project, reporting back to leadership and stakeholders.

Close collaboration and mentorship of team members will be required to provide support and leadership to direct reports. Efforts may include creating, organizing, and executing a test strategy for applications or large projects, including integration, SIT, migration, regression, and smoke testing, with proper documentation sign-off across business units. Troubleshooting and detailed risk analysis may also be required to relay concerns and information clearly to all involved parties.

About The Team

The ERP Technology team at Clayton is a cross-functional group of technology team members and delivery partners who design, implement, and run enterprise ERP capabilities across the business. The team supports and evolves Clayton’s Oracle Cloud ERP platform, including Financials, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and integrated technologies, while partnering closely with business units to enable standardization, scale, and operational excellence. Together, the ERP Tech team serves as a trusted partner focused on modernizing processes, improving data visibility, and delivering stable, secure, and value-driven Oracle solutions for Clayton.

Responsibilities
  • Displays servant leadership to manage and provide technical guidance to team members, challenging them to meet their potential and create solutions that align with architectural guidelines and project goals.
  • Conducts working reviews and provides constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth of team members.
  • Strives to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of sprint goals.
  • Accountable for quality of code, testing best practices, and designs.
  • Seeks to find inefficiencies in the team’s processes and takes ownership of remediation plans.
  • Understands the development and implementation of a Quality Assurance structure within an Agile SDLC and has working knowledge of best practices.
Primary Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology, or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience leading manual and automation testing efforts, through influence or direct management, with development teams creating custom applications and multi-system integrations.
  • Strong experience and background using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience assisting in defining and maturing QA practice, tools, and testing techniques within a team.
  • Experience in multiple forms of testing including, but not limited to:
    Unit testing, performance testing, integration testing, manual testing, and automated testing in a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience developing, supporting, and maintaining test strategies and test plans for UAT, End-to-End testing, and Regression Testing.
  • Proven track record of creating high-quality solutions with on-time delivery.
  • Humble, hungry, and smart self-starter who can work effectively within time constraints and changing priorities.
  • General project management practices.
