Summary:
The Maintenance Technician supports production by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and facility systems. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, ensuring machinery is safe, operational, and compliant with OSHA standards. Ideal
candidates are hands-on problem solvers with strong technical skills and attention to safety.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and facility.
2. Detect and report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to the department supervisor.
3. Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure safety conditions are met.
4. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
5. Provide both scheduled and unscheduled (emergency) repairs on production equipment during, before or after production.
6. Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
7. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
8. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
9. Comply with OSHA safety and health regulations.
10. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
11. Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
12. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
13. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
14. Detect faulty operations, defective equipment, unsafe situations, and report to supervisor.
15. Assist electrician with diagnostics and repair under their guidance and discretion.
16. Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
17. Complete all other duties and cross-training activities as assigned.
Additional Duties
1. Work daily overtime, when required, to complete the day's scheduled assignments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years of Maintenance experience required
- Specialized Knowledge:
- Familiarity with electrical systems and wiring
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Fabrication knowledge preferred, but not required
- Competencies:
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and job duties
- Willingness to help where and when needed, beyond the scope of normal day-to-day duties
