Part-Time Maryville High School Nurse
- 2‑3 days per week (scheduled to be determined)
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Tennessee
- Current CPR Certification
- Assess health needs of students; develop emergency care plans and individual health plans, incorporating input from parents and/or physician.
- Comply with laws relating to student health, including parental and guardian consent.
- Provide appropriate care for ill, medically fragile, and/or injured students.
- Serve as a resource to parents/guardians, teachers, staff, and administrators.
- Identify health problems for referral for proper treatment.
- Follow Maryville City Schools Health Services Guidelines.
- Possess a positive attitude, manage multiple tasks, and communicate positively with all members of the school community.
- Perform physical duties associated with the position (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, etc.).
- Administer first aid, medication, and specialized treatments per state laws and district requirements; monitor and refer students as appropriate.
- Administer mandated screenings (e.g., blood pressure).
- Develop and implement health care plans for students.
- Maintain honesty, integrity, flexibility, confidentiality, professionalism, commitment, and loyalty.
- Maintain contact with parents/guardians to advise them of changes in student health and recommend further medical intervention.
- Maintain student confidential files and records.
- Participate in professional development and school-specific meetings/teams.
- Provide training on various health-related subjects.
- Report health and safety issues to assigned administrator and appropriate agencies.
- Respond to emergency medical situations (e.g., severe falls, seizures, prescription reactions, bleeding).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- FLSA:
Non‑Exempt.
