American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring TN/compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and at least 1 year of recent unit and EPIC EMR experience.

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit
• Patient population includes higher oxygen demand, dialysis, afib, and post heart cath patients
• Step-down from ICU with no vents or pressor support; drips managed include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation
• Telemetry monitoring required
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Floating to other similar units may be required based on census needs
• 1:6 patient ratio
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience managing cardiac drips without titration

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and telemetry patients including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response
• Support patients recovering from cardiac catheterization, MI, and those with pacemakers
• Weekly Monday orientation and annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and required training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will be considered based on relevant experience
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, unless otherwise specified by exception policies for certain specialties
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must live 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
