Turn oncology expertise into inspired practice as a Nurse Education Coordinator Oncology

The Oncology Nurse Educator will join a mission-driven healthcare organization recognized for comprehensive, patient-first cancer services, clinical collaboration, and continued investment in advanced treatment options. This role offers meaningful opportunities to strengthen evidence-based nursing practice, develop specialty education, support quality and safety initiatives, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. An innovation-focused environment, complex oncology cases, professional development resources, and a strong regional reputation make this an exciting destination for an educator seeking measurable impact and long-term career growth.

Within the Cancer Center, the Nursing Professional Development Specialist Oncology will support a program that is part of East Tennessee’s largest cancer-fighting network, offering comprehensive, local cancer care. The network operates the only proton therapy treatment center in the region, expanding access to highly specialized radiation treatment, while an expert oncology pharmacy team works on-site at infusion centers to promote coordinated medication management, safety, and responsive patient care.

The Nurse Education Coordinator Oncology will report to experienced nursing or clinical education leadership and receive support from operational leaders, oncology specialists, and professional development colleagues. Responsibilities may include assessing learning needs, designing and delivering oncology education, coordinating competencies and orientation, supporting regulatory readiness, evaluating educational outcomes, and advancing evidence-based standards. Friendly nurses and a diverse interdisciplinary healthcare team create a collaborative setting where the educator can mentor staff, improve workflows, and strengthen the patient experience across the cancer care continuum.

Living in Eastern Tennessee gives the Oncology Nurse Educator an appealing blend of natural beauty, everyday convenience, and community connection. Residents can explore the Great Smoky Mountains, lakes, greenways, and scenic trails; enjoy concerts, college sports, festivals, arts, and regional attractions; and sample a growing culinary scene rooted in Southern favorites. The region also offers four-season weather, varied housing options, generally manageable commutes, respected schools and higher education institutions, expanding healthcare access, pet-friendly recreation, regional airport connectivity, and a cost-conscious lifestyle with easy access to both vibrant city amenities and quieter communities.

The Nurse Education Coordinator Oncology can expect competitive compensation and a full suite of health and retirement benefits designed to support professional goals, financial wellbeing, and life beyond work.
