Manufacturing Process Technician
Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The position will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. It will also coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
Education and Experience- Associates Degree in Technical or Engineering related field or ASQ Certification
- 1-3 years in quality control Manufacturing (preferred)
- Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel;
Gage Trak experience preferred - FA plate experience
- CMM, Vision System programming to current ASME Y14.5 2009 specs.
- Familiarity with routine instrumentation, inspection and calibration of equipment
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) a plus
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- CNC knowledge a plus
- Ability to build solid working relationships that enhance collaboration and cooperation with others.
- Ability to prioritize daily/weekly work assignments to meet goals.
- Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
- Must have a good command of the English language and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, statistical tools and related software
- Facilitate calibration and routine daily/weekly instrument maintenance to ensure accuracy of results.
- Perform inspection of component parts using a variety of inspection and measurement tools such as optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, CMM and vision scope.
- Evaluate inspection results for compliance to specification.
- Perform First Article inspection of parts by interpreting drawings which include GD&T.
- Recognize problems that might affect the quality or integrity of the product and communicate problems.
- Identify Lean manufacturing opportunities for continuous process improvement and suggest alternatives and solutions to problems.
- Initiate changes to current Inspection Procedures.
- Train other QC technicians and/ or temporary technicians.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.

Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
- Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
