SUMMARY

This full year, 260 day position, assists the Information Technology Director to provide and maintain the systems and networks to meet the information needs of the Schools for reliable, integrated, secure information systems on which to run mission critical, office automation and other applications that support and help provide effective and efficient services and to help resolve end user problems in their use of technology;

implements complex information systems, networks and diverse end user applications; works with end users to identify understand and The Technology Security and Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the security, and effectiveness of all areas under their direction and control.

Works under the general and specific direction of the Director of Network Technology following established rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

JOB ENVIRONMENT

• Administrative, technical and other work is performed in a typical, seasonally comfortable environment with contemporary office systems, tools and equipment.
• The noise level near computers and related systems is constant and can be moderately loud to very loud.
• Operates standard office equipment; mini- and microcomputers, related peripherals, system and network operating systems.
• Required to drive a car to attend meetings and perform work at various work locations throughout the community.
• Makes frequent contact with other school departments and employees;
• Occasional contact with vendors and software support representatives and technician

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintains and ensures server stability and network connectivity; verifies that system protection devices are operating correctly and are current.
• Assists in developing and maintaining a cohesive integrated IT infrastructure to reliably support most user applications; assists with implementing component upgrades and replacements; assists in providing 24 x 7 IT systems availability and support; assists in researching user requirements and vendor product/service capabilities, platform requirements, and capability with existing systems.
• Installs and/or assists with the installation of system applications, utilities, and end user applications, routinely backs up all systems, programs and data.
• Monitors and analyzes hosts of VMware; checks for alarms/notifications; checks for performance issues; ensures license compliance; plans, implements and manages infrastructure, networking and configurations.
• Installs, configures, upgrades and maintains Mashpee domain and all objects contained therein.
• Installs, configures and manages components of Endpoint Detection and Response solution.
• Configures, maintains, upgrades and manages the school network consisting of multiple VLAN’s spanning multiple locations school wide over a variety of networking media, devices, specifications, etc.
• Chromebook warranty and general repairs.
• Performs systems preventative maintenance and periodically analyzes and reports on the capabilities of the IT infrastructure to meet the school’s needs.
• Supports/ troubleshoots phone equipment.
• Trains/instructs users on how to effectively use IT systems and applications and to increase their ability to do so; orients new employees to their…
