Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center is actively seeking a dedicated Locum Orthopedic Surgeon for specific coverage in March and April. This state-of-the-art facility serves a population of 200,000+ from 16 surrounding counties and features a Trauma Level 3 designation. The practice emphasizes collaborative care with a team of 4 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers, delivering comprehensive orthopedic services.
Job Responsibilities- Provide inpatient rounding on post-operative patients and conduct inpatient/ED consults.
- Engage in surgical procedures including trauma care, orthopedic surgeries, and clinical duties.
- Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage and follow-up clinic responsibilities.
- Supervise advanced practice providers as needed.
- Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and care management.
- Collaborate with ancillary staff to ensure efficient operation of the clinic and surgical services.
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (REQUIRED)
- Active IA License or Active IMLC (REQUIRED)
- Clean malpractice history and background check (REQUIRED)
- Ability to cover stated blocks of dates for the position (REQUIRED)
- Competence in performing total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, alongside other orthopedic surgeries (REQUIRED)
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Active Iowa Medical License or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
- Self-Query NPDB report submitted at time of presentation
