Adjunct Pool

NIACC seeks to expand its pool of qualified adjunct instructors. Applicants in the listed contact areas may be contacted according to institutional need in the current or upcoming academic year.

Basic Function:
Adjunct instructors are independently responsible for the effective delivery of course instruction and the facilitation of student learning and success.

Qualifications:

Possess one of the following combinations of education and experience:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in the content area
- Associate's degree with 3,000 hours or more of recent and relevant experience in the content area
- Specialized training with a minimum of 6,000 hours of recent and relevant experience in the content area. Previous teaching experience preferred; effective communication and technology skills necessary.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare for and deliver instruction in the content area, aligning with course competencies, syllabi, and College policies and procedures.

- Evaluate, record, and report attendance; assess student performance and provide regular, constructive feedback.

- Be regularly available to meet with students (in-person or online) as necessary.

- Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, faculty; communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

- Perform work according to assigned schedule; classes may be held face-to-face (on-campus, off-site, at regional centers) or online, and may include day or evening hours. Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned. Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
