A food manufacturing plant is hiring a Plant Engineer to lead its maintenance and engineering department, oversee capital projects, and drive maintenance system improvements that keep production running efficiently. This role leads engineering activities to keep the facility operating with modern, well maintained equipment and processes, and manages a team responsible for plant maintenance.

Compensation$125,000 to $155,000 per year, plus bonus, based on experience.
What You'll DoThe Plant Engineer will own capital projects from concept to completion, managing and scheduling project elements to minimize disruption to plant operations while delivering projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with safety, food safety, and environmental standards. This person will develop and implement maintenance systems that keep the plant operating at a high level, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM strategies, with scheduling that maximizes task completion while minimizing downtime.
The role includes managing the maintenance team by delegating tasks, enforcing policies, and guiding work assignments, as well as providing both short term fixes and long term solutions to operational challenges through troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failure response. This person will also develop and track Key Performance Indicators to measure the success of the maintenance function and drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management, team development, or project leadership
- Food manufacturing experience
- Advanced technical skills in mechanical and electrical fields, including PLCs, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, the work order process, and preventive/predictive maintenance including TPM
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Change management experience
- Experience using exposure monitoring equipment and interpreting and communicating results
- Experience leading resource planning in a large manufacturing environment
- $125,000 to $155,000 per year, plus bonus
