Job DescriptionDIRECTOR OF FINANCE / BOARD SECRETARY & TREASURER
Summary
Develops, coordinates, controls, and directs all accounting practices and procedures necessary for accurate and efficient reporting of all school district fiscal transactions; under the direction of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools. Conducts an analysis of data for long-range financial planning. Must also ensure the district is compliant with state and federal regulations. Supervises all functions of the Business Office.
Specifications/Qualifications
- BA in Accounting preferred; minimum of Associate's degree in Business or Accounting (or 60 semester hours of coursework in Business or Accounting, of which 9 semester hours must be in Accounting)
- School Business Official (SBO) Authorization not required at the time of hire but must be immediately eligible for an initial or temporary SBO Authorization through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting and experience in State and Federal Government reports.
- Computer competency required; experience with multiple forms of technology preferred.
Starting Pay Range
