SCHOLARSHIP & DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

CATEGORY/LEVEL: PSS/9

BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist the Director of NIACC Foundation in the development, promotion, implementation, and monitoring of resource development activities of the NIACC Foundation and Alumni Association. Engage in donor cultivation, solicitation and private sector fundraising increasing the financial support the college receives and assist the Director in developing and delivering those strategies. Manage and direct event planning for the department.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Starting salary of $50,600 to $61,900 based on experience. Benefits package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical health insurance; eye care, dental, life and disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans, and a variety of additional optional benefits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. High-energy level, self-motivated, goal oriented, team worker. Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously.

Experience with Microsoft Office and managing databases. High degree of accuracy. Willingness to learn and serve as lead on proprietary software used by the department. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, and deliver oral presentations and solicitations. Flexibility to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field. Two or more years of experience in alumni relations, community engagement, or event management.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

* Assist the Director in all aspects of the Foundation and provide for direct development and solicitation of benefactors for the College through the NIACC Foundation, increasing the giving from benefactors.

* Help develop, support and deliver the Foundation's fundraising activities to the maximum potential: annual fund campaign, staff campaigns, planned giving programs, corporate giving programs, major donor gifts, volunteer program, special fundraising project, capital campaign, and Endowment Fund Development.

* Oversee and manage the NIACC Foundation Scholarship Program.

* Provide direction for related event planning.

* Assist in developing and managing NIACC Foundation private gift campaigns.

* Assist in marketing/promoting the College and the Foundation to alumni and friends of the College; assist in development strategies to cultivate targeted individuals or groups.

* Assist in the preparation and administer budgets for activities, projects, programs of the department and supervise achievement and tracking.

* Understand, direct and ensure the maintenance and usage of the Foundation database, utilizing its systems/programs to expand the donor pool through communications and solicitation.

* Support efforts of associated committees that involve fundraising efforts.

* Coordinate and manage all donor gift correspondence.

* Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stake holders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
