PACU RN – Recovery with Heart, Teamwork, and Purpose
Full‑time day shift
Why This Role?As a PACU nurse you’ll be the first face patients see after surgery—monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and reassuring loved ones—all while collaborating with a tight‑knit surgical team. It’s an essential role with meaningful impact every shift.
Responsibilities- Assess physical, emotional, and educational needs as patients transition from anesthesia to recovery
- Develop and adapt individualized care plans using strong clinical judgment
- Monitor post‑op conditions, respond quickly to changes, and ensure safe discharges
- Educate and support patients and families with clarity and compassion
- Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to coordinate care
- Stay flexible to support department needs and adapt to evolving healthcare technologies
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and continuous learning opportunities to grow in your role
- Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa required
- Previous experience in acute care preferred
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs
Full Time, 36 hours a week – Monday to Friday, 9.5‑hour shifts. Call rotations may be discussed with the leader; day‑shift hours vary depending on case schedules.
