Join the Mercy One Family! We are looking to hire a Clinic RN at our Mercy One North Iowa Cancer Center clinic.

As a IV Registered Nurse at Mercy One, you accept responsibility and accountability for the delivery of care through the use of the nursing process while providing outpatient injections/infusions (including chemotherapy and other anti-cancer drugs, cardiac, and outpatient COVID related infusions) in the designated outpatient infusion areas. Directs and guides patient and family education. Cares for all types of infusion patients, including oncology/hematology, cardiac, COVID, and all other outpatient infusions while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Practices nursing within the Mercy One North Iowa professional nursing practice plan.

Schedule:

  • Part time 24 hours a week
  • 8:00a-4:30p
  • No Weekends No Holidays

General Requirements:

  • Demonstrates customer service to others as a number one priority and accomplishes this by integrating Service Excellence into all aspects of the work day, taking responsibility for service recovery and working for outcomes that delight the customer.
  • Administers chemotherapy and other anti-cancer drugs, cardiac infusions, COVID infusion treatments, and other outpatient infusions/injections with accuracy. Supports and promotes a safe environment for patients and staff by following established guidelines.
  • Provides accurate documentation of all outpatient infusion procedures and patient information based on nursing practices and standards in a timely manner.
  • Assesses patients and identifies common, complex and unusual physical and psychosocial needs.
  • Guides and directs patient care activities for above indicated population, by utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills and evidence based practice.
  • Triages patient phone calls and assesses for level of care needed, referring to physicians or providing nursing intervention as assessment indicates.
  • Provides or facilitates learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of the patient and family by assessing the learning needs and formulating and initiating a teaching plan to meet those needs.
  • Collaborates with members of the inter-disciplinary health care team to achieve desired patient care outcomes.
  • Demonstrates support of departmental and organizational budgets by accurately capturing all charges generated in the outpatient infusion area.
  • Promotes and maintains positive working relationships in a collegial manner with co-workers, medical staff and personnel of other departments and demonstrates effective communication skills. Assists others needing help as necessary and displays flexibility in job responsibilities.
  • Adapts positively to the ever-changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes. Willing to learn new things, is open to change and maintains a calm positive manner under stressful conditions.
