Project Manager – Store Refurbishments

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Store Refurbishments to support capital and operational projects across the store portfolio. This role will manage projects from initial development and bidding through execution and final closeout, working closely with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and other business partners. The Project Manager will be responsible for keeping projects on schedule and within budget while ensuring compliance with brand standards and maintaining accurate project documentation.

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in retail construction and/or project management preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple external vendors, contractors, and resources in a multi-brand environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong scheduling, planning, and workload management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and operate effectively in a complex work environment.
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Autodesk Forma, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external business partners.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Target Optical New, Relocation, and Remodel program.
  • Manage master schedules, construction schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Coordinate projects from development and bidding through execution and closeout.
  • Partner with Store Construction and Design teams to review plans and construction documents.
  • Ensure projects meet brand standards, timelines, and approved budgets.
  • Work with Procurement to prepare RFP documentation and support the bidding process.
  • Review and analyze vendor bids and provide recommendations for vendor selection.
  • Coordinate pre-construction meetings, project phasing schedules, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Manage project budgets, expenditures, invoices, and change orders.
  • Monitor project progress through photos, reports, schedules, and documentation.
  • Identify and communicate project risks, issues, and delays to leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and timely project completion.
  • Work effectively across multiple brands while understanding their unique requirements and store experience strategies.
  • Prepare project updates and presentations for leadership as needed
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant retail construction or project management experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and external resources.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management and Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience working directly with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience interacting with corporate leadership.
  • Retail construction, refurbishment, remodeling, or store development experience.
  • Experience supporting projects across multiple brands.
