POSITION SUMMARY:The Principal UX Designer serves as the strategic partner for Technology Solutions, driving the vision for intuitive, engaging and visually compelling user experiences. This role functions as a high-impact individual contributor, orchestrating cross-functional alignment between design, business, and engineering. By leveraging deep craft expertise, the Principal Designer translates complex business goals and technical constraints into a cohesive product roadmap, ensuring design excellence across the entire digital ecosystem.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Define and drive the end‑to‑end design process, from discovery and research through wireframes, prototypes, and final visual design.
- Partner closely with Product Owners from Marketing, Professional Education, Sales, and other internal business units to define design strategy with product roadmaps and business objectives.
- Establish and maintain design systems, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
- Champion user‑centered design, ensuring decisions are grounded in research, data, and usability principles.
- Conduct and oversee user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions.
- Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders through presentations, documentation, and storytelling.
- Advocate for accessibility, ensuring products meet inclusive design standards.
- Manage workload and priorities, allocating resources effectively across multiple projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices to continuously elevate the team’s craft.
- Actively participate and partners with external vendors to secure effective and efficient vendor contracts and delivery models, manage SLA’s, and review of contractual metrics and deliverables.

- Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user‑centered design thinking, visual design excellence, and complex problem‑solving.
- Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience working in agile or cross‑functional product development environments.
- Strong understanding of UX research methods and usability principles.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on design execution.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design best practices.
