JOB DESCRIPTION

Indian Hill Primary School is seeking a joyful, creative, and student-centered Music Teacher who believes music is more than a subjectit's a language, a connector, and a spark for lifelong learning. For decades, the Indian Hill music program has served as a cornerstone of the district's educational experience, helping shape generations of students through a deep commitment to musical excellence, creativity, and expression.

At Indian Hill, music is woven into the fabric of who we are. Our primary music teacher helps children discover rhythm, melody, movement, and expression in ways that build confidence, curiosity, and community while carrying forward a long-standing tradition of music as an essential part of a well-rounded education. You'll create a classroom where students feel safe to sing boldly, move freely, and explore music with wonder and purpose.

PREFERRED

SKILLS:

* Experience working with primary school students in instructional or support settings

* Background in music education or performance

* Proficiency in piano accompaniment and instruction

* Enthusiasm for supporting and participating in evening school performances and events

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*):

* Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional program in accordance with District policies and administrative guidelines, Operating Standards for Ohio Schools, and the provisions of State and Federal law.

* Help students to learn subject matter and skills which will lead to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults.

* Provide effective instruction and support that enables students to gain knowledge, acquire skills, and develop positive learning behaviors.

* Follow prescribed state standards, District curriculum guides, and approved courses of study.

* Plan for instruction using written lesson plans that reflect the District's adopted courses of study.

* Diagnose the learning needs of all students on an ongoing basis and focus instruction to address their identified needs.

* Instruct students in assigned academic content/subject enabling them to meet established curricular objectives and IEP objectives.

* Employ a variety of instructional techniques, technology, and media, consistent with the District's approved instructional program, physical limitations of the facility, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
