Currently hiring a special education MUSIC paraprofessional for grades K-8

Special Education Para

Responsibilities include:

* Provide instructional and behavioral support and assistance to classroom teachers and students assigned to a team in a K-8 setting.

* Supervise students during recess, lunch, and sensory breaks.

* Record student progress on data sheets, goal sheets, and daily logs to assist the teacher and Behavior Coordinator.

* Assist with educational classroom needs and student behavior plans.

* Work collaboratively with a school-based team.

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college or AA degree desirable.

* Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certification

Experience:

* Required Must possess a foundational knowledge and understanding of music concepts, rhythm, instruction, and creative expression

* 1 year of accepted experience working with children with autism or other special needs, 2 years (Preferred)

* Special education: 1 year (Preferred)

* Experience with a social-communication classroom TEACCH-style program or a structured-style room for children with autism and/or special needs is preferred.

* Must have strong verbal & written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with both families & staff.

* Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively within a team.

* Must have excellent organizational skills and a positive and energetic attitude.

* Ability to move around considerably.
