Marr/Cook Elementary School is seeking an energetic and nurturing Long-Term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher to lead one of our foundational classrooms for the remainder of the school year. We are looking for an educator who understands that for many students, this is their first step into a lifelong journey of learning. You will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, engaging, and joyful classroom culture that balances academic growth with social-emotional development.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
* Instructional Delivery:
Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons in literacy, math, and social studies, following the district's curriculum standards.
* Foundational
Skills:
Foster early literacy and numeracy through play-based learning, hands-on activities, and small-group instruction.
* Classroom Management:
Establish clear routines and positive behavioral expectations to create an organized and supportive learning environment.
* Student Assessment:
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction to meet the diverse needs of early learners.
* Collaboration:
Work closely with the Kindergarten team, specials teachers, and support staff to ensure a cohesive experience for all students.
* Communication:
Maintain open and proactive communication with families regarding student milestones, daily progress, and classroom updates.
Qualifications Profile
* Certification:
Valid Ohio Substitute Teaching License.
* Licensure:
Early Childhood (P-3) or Elementary (K-8) Teaching License preferred.
* Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (strongly preferred); minimum of a substitute teaching license
* Transportation:
Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License or reliable ability to provide own transportation.

* Ability to adapt quickly to the needs of a dynamic classroom.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a structured daily schedule.
* Creativity in making learning "come alive" for 5 and 6-year-olds.
