Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor (Part-Time) - Health Professions Academy

LOCATION:

Health Professions Academy at Scarlet Oaks

REQUIREMENTS /

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must possess a current, unencumbered, valid Ohio RN nursing license.

* Currently certified to teach from an approved Train the Trainer program or eligible and willing to complete the program prior to hire.

* Must qualify for or possess an adult career-technical teaching permit through the Ohio Department of Education.

* Must have a minimum of two years (3,200 hours) of experience as a registered nurse.

* A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

* Some evening or weekend hours may be required.

* Must satisfy all job-related attendance requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement and effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.

* Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons. Note preparation time will vary based on the instructor's teaching experience.

* Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting.

* Suitably challenge, engage, serve, and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect.

* Complete grade books, final grade sheet, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on a timely basis.

* Deliver ensured course and program learning outcomes as defined by the syllabus.

* Maintain a paper or electronic record (i.e., spreadsheet or grade book) of each student's progress and have it available upon request by students and/or appropriate school personnel.

* Facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment.

* Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule and exhibiting a passion for teaching and students while engaging students in the learning process.

* Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus and as approved by the Program Coordinator.

* Complete, as directed, all end-of-term responsibilities, including submission of final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and all other designated materials to the HPA office.

* Respond to requests (e.g., from students, program coordinator, academic area chairs, department heads, and committee chairs) quickly and thoroughly.

Availability: IMMEDIATELY

Hours:

Hours and days vary and have some flexibility. Classes begin monthly and span for two to three weeks at a time.

1-3 days a week, 7:30 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday - half days may be available

Clinical: 7:00 a.m.

- 1:30 p.m. 3 times a month.

Salary/Pay Scale: $36.73 per hour
