Description:

Certified Assistant - Sign Language Interpreter, .875 FTE

Job Summary:

The CERTIFIED ASSISTANT - SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER facilitates effective communication between students, parents, and staff who are deaf

or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and instructional environment. This role provides accurate interpretation of classroom instruction and activities,

supports student access to curriculum and school routines, and collaborates with staff to ensure meaningful participation in the educational program.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Sign Language Interpreting required.

Valid Ohio Department of Education Associate License for Interpreter for the Hearing Impaired.

Valid driver's license.

Successful experience interpreting in a classroom or educational setting.

Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.

Working Conditions:

7 hours per day, 5 days per week and 184 days per school year calendar.

Per current Lakota salary schedule, starting at $26.48 per hour based on verified previous experience.
