Anatomy and Physiology - Part-Time (Adjunct) Faculty

The Sinclair Anatomy and Physiology Department utilizes labs to enhance lecture presentations of its courses, including human anatomy and physiology labs. This part‑time adjunct faculty position is located at the Course view Campus in Mason, OH, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 3:50 PM. Adjunct faculty earn $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Teach curriculum developed by the department.
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, using available instructional technology when appropriate.
  • Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet the needs of diverse students.
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Adjunct faculty are not assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in biology required; or a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of biology graduate coursework in the content area required.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia‑based instruction.
