The Electrical & Software Engineer for Ground Support Equipment is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electronic, control, and software systems supporting aviation ground support equipment. This role serves as the primary technical resource for automation and controls, working closely with customers, product development, and manufacturing teams. This individual will lead the development of integrated hardware and software solutions, translating customer requirements into reliable, manufacturable systems.
The role requires strong hands‑on engineering capability, ownership of deliverables, and the ability to execute designs from concept through implementation and support in a timely manner per the project schedule.
- Lead the design and development of electronic, control, software solutions and technical documentation for ground support equipment, from concept through implementation and support – per ISO 9001 procedures
- Develop and implement PLC and HMI‑based control systems and associated software for automation and equipment functionality.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, product managers, and supply chain) to deliver integrated, manufacturable solutions.
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and system designs with pace and accountability to the customer’s project schedule.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronic, control, and software issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing and documenting corrective actions.
- Support new product development and product improvements, including automation and system enhancements.
