  • This position will support the launch and operation of a new production line for a new customer focused on manufacturing starters and alternators.

Position Summary
  • Leads the development, administration, and ongoing support of the company’s environmental health and safety program in compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters, incidents, and compliance initiatives.
  • Supports the startup of a new production line while building and implementing scalable safety processes and programs.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal safety policies through regular audits, inspections, and operational reviews.
  • Develops and delivers safety training programs, including new hire orientation, regulatory updates, and equipment safety procedures.
  • Acts as the first responder for workplace accidents and injuries, leading investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and reports safety metrics and compliance data to leadership and regulatory agencies.
  • Conducts facility, machinery, and equipment safety inspections to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
  • Oversees environmental testing activities related to air quality, noise levels, and temperature compliance.
  • Partners with Human Resources on Workers’Compensation and ADA-related matters.
  • Supports and maintains ISO-based management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ideal candidates bring strong safety leadership, regulatory knowledge, and experience supporting manufacturing or production operations in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Safety, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining workplace safety programs and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and AED procedures preferred.
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations and performing root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication, training, and presentation skills with the ability to engage employees across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with computer systems and reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting new production lines, manufacturing startups, or facility expansions preferred.
  • Industrial Engineering background highly valued.
  • Exposure to chemical manufacturing environments or chemical safety practices is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety procedures and compliance standards.
  • Forward-thinking, innovative mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Professional safety certifications are highly preferred, including:
    • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
    • Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
    • Certificate in Safety Management
    • ISO 45001 Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001 standards and exposure to ISO 9001 systems preferred.
Compensation

Competitive base salary
