Mason, OH (when not traveling)

Typically, 8 AM–5 PM (flexible), 40–60 hours/week
Onsite:
Mason, OH when not traveling
Hours: 40–60 per week depending on project phase
Expenses:
Weekly reimbursement submission required
As a PLC Controls Engineer II, you will support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, travel-intensive role.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Up to 4 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling
- Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms)
- Experience or interest in post and parcel operations (preferred)
- Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
PreferredSkills & Qualifications
- Experience with Beckhoff, Factory Talk View
- Knowledge of VFDs, Cognex/SICK scanners, and machine vision systems
- Proficiency with software tools like Studio 5000, RSLinx, AutoCAD Electrical, and B&R Automation Studio
- Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning
- Support project scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams
- Help develop technical documentation (QA/QC, test plans)
- Participate in BUAT/UAT/FAT testing and post-installation support
- Contribute to customer training and troubleshooting
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in dynamic environments (~90% travel)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Eagerness to learn and collaborate across teams
