OverviewWe are seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join a highly innovative engineering team developing next-generation electronic safe and arm devices for defense applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced digital hardware and embedded systems utilizing FPGA technology, hardware/firmware integration, and cutting-edge defense electronics.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FPGA design, digital logic development, embedded systems, and hardware verification. This position is well-suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges in a fast-paced product development environment.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze system requirements and contribute to hardware architecture development
Design, develop, and debug FPGA solutions using Verilog HDL
Support hardware, firmware, and microcontroller development efforts
Develop and maintain digital logic, state machines, communication interfaces, timer chains, and sensor interfaces
Perform hardware bring-up, integration, troubleshooting, and validation activities
Utilize laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/ICE debuggers, and protocol analyzers
Support design verification, code reviews, unit testing, and product validation activities
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve product quality and development efficiency
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
6+ years of relevant FPGA, digital design, or embedded hardware experience
Strong experience developing FPGA solutions using Verilog HDL
Experience with digital design principles, logic architecture, and RTL development
Embedded C programming experience
Experience debugging hardware and firmware in laboratory environments
Familiarity with version control tools such as Git, SVN, or TFS
Experience supporting product development through verification, testing, and release
System Verilog and UVM verification experience
ASIC development experience
Experience with Microsemi/Actel FPGA devices and Libero toolsets
Experience using Questa Sim or Model Sim simulation tools
C# development experience
Defense, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics experience
Knowledge of hardware, firmware, and software integration methodologies
