The Institutional Custody Ops Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mason, OH, responsible for overseeing day-to-day institutional custody operations. This position manages workflows related to asset settlement, reconciliation, cash movement, corporate actions, and safekeeping of client assets, ensuring timely and accurate processing. The role includes leading an operations team, assigning tasks, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing process improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
The manager coordinates with internal technology, compliance, and client service teams, as well as external custodians, brokers, and institutional clients to resolve issues and respond to inquiries. This role also ensures adherence to regulatory and internal controls, prepares operational reports, supports audits, and contributes to policy and procedure development.
- Experience in institutional custody, fund administration, securities operations, or related financial services operations, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, money market, derivatives), settlement processes, reconciliations, and cash operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop an operations team, including performance management, coaching, and workforce planning.
- Proficiency with custody platforms, portfolio accounting systems, and common office productivity tools; comfort working with data, reports, and metrics.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on operational accuracy and risk mitigation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and institutional clients.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., SEC, FINRA, fiduciary standards) and internal control best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; professional certifications in operations or securities (e.g., CSCP, CISI, securities licenses) are beneficial.
