** What's a typical day as a Medical Biller? You'll be:*
* + Reviewing medical claims and transmitting them to insurance carriers using an electronic health records (EHR) system and clearing house.

+ Monitoring rejected claims, making necessary adjustments, and resubmitting for approval.

+ Downloading explanation of payments to post claim payments and denials in the EHR system.

+ Researching denied and open claim balances, correcting errors, and resubmitting within carrier guidelines.

+ Utilizing insurance carrier websites and direct communication to investigate claim denials and status.

+ Partnering with the clearing house to distribute patient billing statements and monitor the patient portal for payments.

+ Initiating over payment refunds to patients and repayments to carriers, as required.

+ Serving as the primary point of contact for vision and medical claims within the practice.

+ Supporting the corporate manager to maximize claim collection rates.

** This job might be an outstanding fit if you:*
* + Have a high school diploma and at least 3 years of related experience in medical billing and coding (5 years strongly preferred).

+ Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

+ Exhibit effective communication skills-verbal, written, listening, and presentation.

+ Can prioritize issues efficiently and solve problems independently.

+ Have experience working in multiple doctor practices (preferred).

+ Possess knowledge of requirements for multiple insurance carriers and proven ability to identify and resolve billing issues.
