JOB SUMMARY

The HR Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for providing a wide range of HR support and services to employees and management. This role involves various HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, employee-facing benefits administration, and policy implementation. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in promoting a positive work culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering employee engagement within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Establishing and maintaining paid time off policies within HCM and annually load appropriate paid time off for employees
  • Processes all Personnel Change Notices (PCN’s), maintaining integrity of data within the HCM system; specifically employee information, job descriptions, job titles, compensation ranges, assigning managers, etc.
  • Acting as a resource to employees to handle questions, concerns, or suggestions
  • Acts as point person for all data requests, government survey information, EEO-1 reporting, employment verifications, unemployment claims, etc.
  • Maintaining positive employee relations and advises management of concerns
  • Conducts exit interviews, collecting data, communicating results, and making suggestions for improvement
  • Maintains all emergency response rosters, including evacuation reports and lists
  • Responsible for collecting Compensation Surveys obtaining market data and presenting to Director of HR
  • Prepares and communicates pay adjustments to Payroll including, bereavement, boot allowances, and safety glasses
  • Assists Director of HR in performance management process
  • Assists with ongoing and ad-hoc training programs and development
  • Assists Director in developing pre-employment testing and implementation

    Assists with Career progression mapping
  • Assists in maintenance of job description updates
  • Maintains Company Organizational charts
  • Assisting in the Open Enrollment process
  • Drives company wellness initiatives as they relate to employee benefits
  • Inputs monthly training records
  • Provides Front Desk coverage as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple priorities at once
  • Ability to address situations with good judgment and integrity
  • Excellent task management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build strong business relationships
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience: preferably in Business, Communication or HR related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources department handling a variety of employee concerns, staffing, discipline, and compliance issues is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong ability using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
EQUIPMENT USED

This position will use a personal computer, telephone, fax, and copier.

WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

This position is in an indoor environment located in HR shop office off of the manufacturing shop floor. It will require some walking and standing to interact with individuals on the shop floor and significant time sitting at desk working on a computer.
