Purchasing Sourcing Specialist - Contract To Hire
Location:
Mason, OH
Pay: $25-35/HR
Responsibilities- Manage RFQs, purchase orders, order confirmations, and supplier follow-up to support on-time delivery.
- Manage source-controlled tools/items by purchasing from approved suppliers according to drawings and specifications.
- Track supplier lead times, delivery commitments, order status, and overall supplier performance.
- Expedite delayed orders, identify delivery risks, escalate issues, and coordinate recovery actions.
- Coordinate with Engineering and OEM stakeholders when an approved alternate supplier is needed.
- Maintain accurate supplier production and order information for internal teams and customer updates.
- Work cross-functionally with Fulfillment, Quality, Logistics, and other departments to support forecasting and supply continuity.
- Negotiate and maintain competitive product pricing and catalog price lists.
- Manage supplier commercial claims, including late-delivery penalties and quality-related costs, and ensure cost recovery.
- Coordinate supplier non-conformances, non-technical change requests, timing adjustments, and support for new product introductions.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of RFQs, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, and end-to-end order fulfillment.
- Proven supplier performance management experience, particularly with on-time delivery and quality.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and customer-service focus.
- Ability to identify delivery risks and implement corrective actions.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, and technical drawings.
- Experience with source-controlled purchasing and supplier-specific requirements.
- Ability to coordinate with Engineering/OEM stakeholders when alternate sourcing is necessary.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills
