JBS is seeking an hourly 1 ST SHIFT Quality Lead Team Member! Position starts at $24 per hour.

- Conducts quality assurance testing and accurately documents products and raw materials on the plant floor—including in-process and finished product quality checks, labels, incoming ingredients, and sell‑by/product dates.
- Investigates and determines cause or causes of quality defects and communicates findings to the production team.
- Performs root‑cause analysis and implements preventive measures for individual problems.
- Coordinates activities with other leads and supervisors to ensure quality department coverage.
- Communicates to leads and supervisors when product is out of specification.
- Assists in validating plant‑wide compliance with GMPs and employee safety rules.
- Supports leadership in root‑cause analysis and implements preventative measures.
- Trains new team members as needed.
- Works independently or within a team as required.
- Assembles daily reports, paperwork, and blue label sheets.
- Stays current with GMPs, SOPs, standards, policies, procedures and product specifications.
- Verifies calibration of equipment.
- Maintains communication and updates as required by leadership.
- Performs detailed inspections, testing and documentation, and is trained in pre‑operation activities and HACCP documentation and activities.
- Directs and leads a group of employees involved in inspection and quality procedures for in‑process material and finished products.
- Assists with planning and execution of quality team work.
- Maintains expectations, morale and harmonious relations among subordinates.
- Evaluates and communicates personnel performance or training needs.
- Maintains accurate quality records, compiling and maintaining inspection records and reports.
- May assume other duties as assigned.
- Prefer High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- Prefer experience in food manufacturing or quality
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be well‑organized with good attention to detail
- Display strong work ethics and positive attitude
- Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction
- Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to work independently or as a team and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instruction and communicate findings with QA & Production Leads and Supervisors
Activities:
Validating manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing for long hours, bending, stooping, and lifting.
Hearing:
Must be able to hear average or normal conversations to receive information, occasionally with loud background noise in the working environment.
Repetitive motion:
Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
Visual abilities:
Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.
Physical strength:
Regularly or frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Working conditions:
Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it is loud, wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are around 34‑degrees. Employees are expected to remain in these conditions throughout the workday.
